Why is it that I can never achieve the right guage?? When I was working on my highlighter yellow cardigan, I was short when I used the recommended hook 4/0; I had to use 5/0 before I can get it closer (still short though). I reason that maybe because I choose to use DMC Senso (size 3) thread hence the stitches came out much smaller.

Fine, then I started on another capelet using my latest Elann Sonata, they look like your everyday regular yarn and yet, I'm still short!! Can you imagine my frustration, do I really have to stick to the recommended yarn in order to achieve the right guage?? I don't think I'm a tight crocheter either.

And because of this, I'm quite fearful to take on apparel projects.
