why oh why???

My first attempt in crocheting a pair of mary janes for H ended up with one side bigger than the other!! Arggh.. How did that happen, I thought I was (rather) careful in counting the stitches. Goodness, what do I do with them now?? And thats not the end, one of the straps started on the wrong side of the foot. What was I thinking then?? I cannot bear to crochet another pair or even one side coz I'm itchy to start on my capelet.

How encouraging...humf...I hope my capelet will not end up a tablecloth *faint*
