I do play sports, though not much. Actually, the only thing I do right now is golfing. That hardly is any strenuous sports, all you need is to hit the ball and continue your journey on the buggy. Very suitable for lazy bums like me.
Anyway, I started playing last November and my scores have always been on the steep side. I never fail to make a series of mistakes in a few holes and blow the entire game. But things took a pleasant turn last week, I managed to cut down to 52 for my first nine holes. Maybe I was too complacent or the weather was killing me, my second nine ended up with 60. I was still very pleased with myself, this is the lowest I have come so far. I have this feeling that I am beginning to have better control over my body and my clubs.
I hope this continues, and hopefully, the hubby of my BFF will get to witness my another breakthrough next week :p

can drive
I took a day off, to play golf yesterday. Bearing in mind what G told me about how a driver should work, I carefully planned my set up and stance, took a deep breathe and wheee...my ball flew! I had to make sure it wasn't just sheer luck and true enough, I managed to get the right projectile for 70 percent of the time. If you were there, you could see me beaming like full moon.
What I need now is to tackle my short game and make sure my wood works. I'm still not very confident of my short game and like it or not, the more you fear topping, the more it is going to top and roll off the green. I don't know if it is a game of sport or mind. My wood is erratic too, I think I have learn it like how I learned my driver. It should work.
My happiest moment was I managed a 2 on for a par 4 hole but the green was really fast, so I ended up with a 3 putt bogey finish. My putting was bad, averaging 3 putts yesterday, something to do the the fast green, I couldn't see any break/brake. So IF I maintained my usual 2 putt finish, my total score could be lower. Unfortuntately, golf doesn't work that way.
It is really fun, when your ball gets going. And oh, I played the Allamanda course at Palm Resort yesterday. Alot of water hazards and I lose 3 precious balls.

the long and the short
I finally went back to the green after a good 5-year break. The feeling is beyond words, I was nervous and at the same time excited when I took my stance at the first tee. Needless to say, I couldn't drive for nuts. I had three mulligans but my biggest relief was, there wasn't any flight after ours, less stress.
It was a good game though it was drizzling throughout, funny thing was, I hardly felt the rain, maybe I was concentrating too hard on my game. My final score counts a grand total of 126, hardly mentionable but I guess thats not too bad for someone who hasn't stepped into the range nor touched her clubs for half a decade. Lol.
I need to work harder on my driver, get my woods to be more consistent and of coz, my chipping. In summary, I have to work on my long and short game. The only consolation is, I managed an average 2 putt finish.
