bedtime stories

We do not have a routine plus, I am not a very good storyteller. I learned that other parents read to their children before bed but I'm reluctant as it might over-excite T that it'll push back his (already late) zzz time and I'm not asking for more troubles.

However, since his first school trip to the Singapore Discovery Centre, we have been talking and recollecting his school trips before we knock ourselves off everynight. We will lie on our mattresses and yak, usually about the same ol stuff but T seems to get a kick out of it. At times, I wish he'll stop because it is getting too boring for me, to repeat the same things everynight. But as he pleads, I give in. It must have been sweet memories to him (the trip I mean, not the endless bedtime talks). Also, I am telling myself to cherish these moments as once they (T&H) hit teenage years, they may just clam themselves up (which I hope they will not).

Children are so easily contented and simpleminded, adults tend to complicate matters.
