homemade pizza

With the rapid rising cost of living, we make a point to eat home more on weekends. To keep us from temptations, we try to do something different every week. Last saturday, it was pizza night. I tried out Ali's recipe for the crust and everything else was bought from Cold Storage Gourmet, still worked out to be cheaper than eating at Modesto's and alot more fun too.

We made two versions, the standard tomato based salami, ham, mushrooms and mozerella cheese and a olive oil based with proscuitto ham and rocket leaves. For the latter, we baked the crust kosong and layered the hams and leaves when the crust is done. Both were good, and I realised, you mustn't stinge on the ingredients, get the freshest possible and even so, it is still more economical than dialing for deliveries.

See the little pizza? It's made by T, he had alot of fun doing this but my mom was frowning over the mess we created in the kitchen.

Ali's Pizza Dough

3 cups plain flour
1 sachet active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1 tbsp sugar
